Carnegie Hill

Carnegie Hill is a neighborhood in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. The area spans from 86th to 98th streets and from Fifth Avenue to Third Avenue. This well-known area was named after the mansion that Andrew Carnegie built on Fifth Avenue in 1901. Today his home is a museum branch of the Smithsonian Institution and one of the many historical and entertaining landmarks in the area.

Similar in name to its counterpart, Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Hill is a well-known section of the Upper East Side. Residents and tourists can take the 4, 5, or 6 train to 86th Street to adventure through Carnegie Hill. This high-class area is home to elegant townhouses, luxurious condos, and even mansions. Carnegie Hill is an architecturally rich area filled with museums, restaurants, and shops. Many destinations are within walking or biking distance, and public transportation is easily accessible to tour Carnegie Hill and beyond.
